How the CPS test works

Pick a duration and start clicking in the big box. The timer starts with your first click. When time runs out, we divide your clicks by the seconds to get your CPS (clicks per second).

CPS ranks

Clicking very fast for long periods can strain your hand and wrist. Take breaks.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS?
Most people click 5–7 times per second. 8–10 CPS is fast, and above 12 CPS usually means special techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking.
What is the world record for clicks per second?
Records of more than 14 CPS sustained over 10 seconds are reported in the clicking community using butterfly clicking. Results depend heavily on the mouse and technique.
How can I click faster?
Try jitter clicking (tensing your forearm to vibrate your finger) or butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers on one button). Use a light mouse with crisp switches and take breaks to avoid strain.
Is the CPS test useful for games?
Yes — fast clicking matters in PvP games like Minecraft. It is also a quick way to check that your mouse switch registers every click.
